Divide Clients Into Categories

The first thing to do in solving your client retention problem is to go through your customer database and start sorting your clients into categories to match the lifetime value and the 80/20 rule.

This will allow you to tailor a plan and a budget based on what ROI you can expect from each client category. The four criteria that determine client value are this:

  • How often they place orders
  • How much are their orders are worth
  • How long has the client repeatedly bought from you, every month, every year…
  • How recently a client has purchased

A word to the wise: This is not a quick or easy task. It will take time, effort, and care. And I can promise you it will be worth it.
